How are sports betting odds calculated?

Decimal odds are commonly known as European odds in mainland China. These odds include the principal amount, which means the odds already include the amount of the bet, so when calculating the profit, the number of the principal should be excluded

For example: If the odds are 1.80, betting 100 and winning will return 180 and the profit is 80

Hong Kong odds are very easy to understand for players in mainland China. These odds do not include the principal, so the player does not need to convert any odds, and the odds directly represent the profit report that the player can get after winning the bet

For example: If the odds are 0.80, betting 100 and winning will return 80

When Malay odds are positive (Hong Kong odds are less than 1.00), it is the same as Hong Kong odds, and the profit formula is also the same as Hong Kong odds. 1.00 is used as a boundary, if the odds expressed in Hong Kong odds are greater than 1.00, it will display a negative number, which represents the number of chips you need to invest for every 1 unit of winning chips

For example:

• 0.80 (Hong Kong odds)

If the Hong Kong odds are less than 1.00, the Malay odds are the same as the Hong Kong odds. Malay odds = Hong Kong odds = 0.8. If the customer bets 100 on the odds of 0.8, and the game is lost, the customer loses the principal of 100; if the game is won, the customer can only win 80, which is less than the principal of 100

• 2.33 (Hong Kong odds)

If the Hong Kong odds are greater than 1.00, the Malay odds: Malay odds = - (1/Hong Kong odds) = - (1/2.33) = -0.43. If the customer bets 100 on the odds of -0.43, and the game is lost, the customer loses 100*0.43=43 yuan; if the game is won, the customer can win the entire principal of 100 yuan, but 43 yuan is less than the principal of 100 yuan

Indonesian odds also have two types of odds, positive and negative. If it is a positive number, the calculation is the same as Hong Kong odds, showing how much profit one betting unit can earn. When the odds are negative, it means the amount of the bet required to earn 1 unit of profit

For example:

• 0.9 (Hong Kong odds)

If the Hong Kong odds are less than 1.00, then the Indonesian odds = - (1/Hong Kong odds) = -1.11. If the customer bets 100 on the odds of -1.11, and the game is lost, the customer loses 100*1.11=111; if the game is won, the customer can only win a principal of 100, which is less than 111

• 1.26 (Hong Kong odds)
